LifeLine International welcomes new business focussed Board member

LifeLine International is excited to welcome its newest Board member, Mr Paul Malliate B Ec. BAB(Law) FCPA FAICD FIML MBA, a seasoned professional with a strong background in the law, accounting, and management.
With 25 years of experience in international business, Mr Malliate is poised to bring practical and impactful new perspectives to our organisation.
Born in Mauritius and later moving to Australia, Mr Malliate holds qualifications in Economics and Law, together with an MBA focused on international business. His extensive travels to over 110 countries, primarily in Asia, showcase a global outlook that aligns perfectly with LifeLine International’s mission, as well as our new Decriminalise Suicide Worldwide campaign.
In 2000, Mr Malliate established a local suicide prevention group, earning recognition with the Prime Minister’s Centenary Medal. His dual qualifications as a lawyer and CPA, along with 40 years of business experience, including leadership roles in law firms, highlight his practical expertise.
“Mr Malliate’s commitment to global causes is evident through his life membership in the Law Council of Australia, former chairmanship of the Law Asia Management Group, and a decade-long service on the Board of the United Nations Association of Australia,” LifeLine International CEO Thili Perera said.

His diverse background and experience underscore his dedication to bringing varied perspectives to the table, and his practical approach and eagerness to collaborate with Members signals a positive direction for the organisation.

With a proven track record as the National Managing Partner and Asia Pacific Executive Officer for Baker & McKenzie, a global law firm, Mr Malliate’s strategic insights will play a key role in guiding LifeLine International toward future success.
