Ron is the current President of Telecare Distress Centers of Canada, Treasurer of Telecare of Greater Simcoe, and Past President of Canadian Mental Health Association (Simcoe). For his service working with volunteer organisations, he was awarded the Order of Orillia.

Ron is qualified as a licensed Professional Engineer who has practiced in the fields of Telecommunications and Energy Alternatives since earning the degree of BASc from the University of Waterloo in 1964. He taught technology for twenty years and provided quality assurance as a consultant for another twenty years.
